The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for the identification and timely execution of process improvement project initiatives which will assist the HR Service Centre to reduce structural costs and enhance the customer experience. The incumbent will be responsible for organizing and analyzing data/volumes, and identifying efficiencies. The incumbent must be comfortable working with highly sensitive and confidential information.

Key Accountabilities

1. Identify and analyze opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of enhancements by:

  • Analyzing current processes and complete data analysis to identify potential process enhancements
  • Synthesize findings and communicate opportunities for improvement to Senior Management
  • Prepare process design and implementation/change management communication strategies

2. Provide support to the team and management with timely and reliable execution of activities related to documentation review and analysis:

  • Create training guides and process documents to promote accuracy and consistency across the project and team members
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Maintain confidentiality of information

3. Participate in departmental activities and actively promote teamwork:

  • Assist with existing process documentation
  • Share learning and insight with team members
  • Promote a friendly atmosphere, good morale and cooperation within and beyond own team or unit
  • Provide assistance with other duties as assigned

4. Provide support to all project stakeholders

  • Assist internal and external stakeholders by providing information as requested
  • Assist with the creation of key reporting metrics and key performance indicators to communicate project milestones and measure project success

Functional Competencies

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills.
  • Good knowledge of Visual Basic and/or related application.
  • Advanced analytical skill to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • High attention to detail
  • Must be flexible to adapt positively to changing priorities.
  • Must be able to work under pressure
