Infrastructure Support Engineer- Insurance - City, London
This role is Hybrid working 2 days per week in offices in the City of London and the remainder remotely working as an Infrastructure Support Engineer.
Our Client, a specialist Consultancy who supply the Lloyd's of London Insurance market are looking for an Infrastructure Support Engineer to join their small dedicated team to maintain existing on-premise and Azure cloud infrastructure systems within the company.
The Infrastructure Support Engineer will be involved in all aspects of IT infrastructure support, from communications/networking, server and PC build, desktop support and remote data centre management.
Key responsibilities:-
- Build, maintain, and support the physical and virtual environment, network storage, backup, and recovery systems
- Configure all server builds and networks in compliance with IT security policies and accreditation standards
- Maintain software compliance for server operating systems, applications and client licences
- Monitor usage and performance to ensure Servers and services are operating correctly
- Work within the remit of the organisations cyber security policies
- Building and maintaining the IT hosting and security infrastructure
- Provide support to users
- Being part of the on-call IT rota to respond to emergencies and perform remote access
- Regularly auditing the network and systems to ensure compliance with IT policies and to identify areas for upgrades or improvements
Skills/experience required:-
- Experience with virtual environments (VMWare) and core Windows OS administration skills
- MS Azure knowledge
- Knowledge of server and storage hardware, IT security, high availability environments, and IP fundamentals
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- Knowledge of IP phone systems
- Relevant Microsoft qualifications, A+, Network+ or Security+ are a strong bonus
