Principal Data Engineer - Contract - London

My client in the financial space is looking to bring on a Principal Data Engineer because of internal movements and a re-structure. This is a great opportunity to help build out the Data team of an impressive client.

Rate: £600-650/day

Duration: 12 Months

Location: London

Skills/Responsibilities:

- Engage with the business to gather requirements and delivery development work

- Develop software for delivery using the appropriate technology, code standards and testing standards as agreed

- Work on data analytics to further develop the data infrastructure

- Writing web services (RESTful APIs) in multiple programming languages - ie C#, Java, C++

- Strong C# experience

- Messaging - Kafka, ActiveMQ

- MongoDB, Cassandra

- Hadoop

- AWS, Azure

- Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Hubs

- Scripting in Python for automation

- Experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, T-SQL and PL/SQL Programming, DB Queues

- Working in a .NET framework

- Knowledge of development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, TFS, Subversion, Nuget and Git
