Project Manager - Amsterdam - 6 Month Contract - £600 a day inclusive of expenses (Contract)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Agile Project Manager to assist on a long term contract over in Amsterdam. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the application, infrastructure and delivery teams, alongside the stakeholders to keep assigned projects on schedule and promote more agile ways of working. You will ensure that new processes are smoothly introduced from pilot programs through commercialisation and that issues are quickly identified and resolved. The daily rate is £600, this is an all inclusive rate which you will need to factor in your flights, hotels etc.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall project management to projects/workstreams identified, and do so by infusing an agile mindset/culture with the understanding we are looking to promote agility and flex the traditional model where possible.
  • Provide Scrum Master or coaching duties for facilitating best-in-class agile practices/agile ways of working; execute to the standard PMO model.
  • Scheduling and facilitating necessary meetings and related action items.
  • Pursuing iterative process improvements and collaborative conversations.
  • Promoting consistent estimating practices for predictability and planning.
  • Working with outside vendors (if applicable) and internal teams to plan and manage the project activities, provide governance, and oversight, and provide status and other inputs to Business and IT stakeholders/Leadership.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and issues (and related mitigation plans); escalate in a clear and timely manner as appropriate.
  • Provide RAG state and status updates and slide decks for reviews and updates to the business/IT stakeholders.
  • Working with the business/product, actively manage the project scope.
  • Coordinate internal resources and work with/manage third parties/vendors as needed.
  • Hold resources accountable for bodies of work to be delivered on schedule/quality/budget.
  • Manage and track implementation issues/risks to achieve a successful delivery of goals.
  • Prepare and track post-go-live issues to ensure a successful stabilisation phase.
  • Prefer knowledge of relevant business domains and experience working with Agility.

Skills required:

  • Relevant years of experience with a focus on IT project management/program delivery or similar type of experience ideally in the retail industry.
  • Relevant years of experience as an agile Scrum Master or experience with agile ways of working.
  • Experience leading up to several concurrent projects, preferably in the Retail and Ecommerce domains.
  • Experience collaborating with and adapting to vendor methodologies as appropriate.
  • Technical background with understanding and or hands-on experience in manufacturing or IT a plus.
  • Willing to take a hands-on approach and help the team drive success.
  • Exposure to or mastery of Azure Dev Ops (ADO)/Jira.
