Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Ground Control Segment Responsible Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

The selected candidate will be a critical member of the TERN team. The Responsible Engineer (RE) will be responsible for the design, integration, test and deployment of the Ground Control System (GCS). GCS require integration of commercial IT equipment with military/aerospace specific weapon replaceable unit (WRAs) in a highly controlled aerospace environment including both labs and field locations.

Essential Functions:

* Assessing the current state for the Ground Control System (GCS) Hardware
* Managing the GCS Hardware
* Capturing and developing the GCS requirements
* Performing the HW/SW integration
* Identifying test points, detailing test procedures and executing the detailed test procedures as part of the Preliminary and Formal test phases.
* Deploying and supporting the GCS in the labs and field

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with limited oversight, high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of engineeringand/or Aerospace experience ORMaster's Degree in STEM and 7 years engineering and/or Aerospaceexperience OR PHDand 4 years of experience.
* Experience with commercial IT equipment
* Test development and execution experience
* The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
* An active in-scope DoD Secret Clearance
* Ability to obtain and maintain an active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance
* Excellent 2- way communication skills (upward and downward)
