Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Director of Butler Services is to direct the staff and operations of the Butler Department and to provide the leadership needed to ensure world-class experiences for our guests. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort's policies, practices, and procedures

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all areas of the Butler Department, including the daily operations and executions of duties by the Team.
  • Executes operational functions consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department and division by performing to the standards of the guest service model.
  • Provides leadership and creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and Team Member satisfaction through quality hiring, training and succession planning processes.
  • Conducts performance appraisals, feedback, and discipline of Team Members.
  • Assists all Team Members with hands-on support during key events and high business volumes.
  • Prepares work schedules to maximize the effectiveness of the department.
  • Audits guest checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintains profiles of VIP guests.
  • Assists guests with all areas of service not specifically related to food and beverage.
  • Develops and implements department policies and procedures to ensure prompt, efficient service to all property guests.
  • Ensures that all specialty food and beverage requests are ordered and delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinates private parties and special functions with other F&B departments.
  • Overseas product ordering, pricing and sales ensuring costs are controlled and profits driven.
  • Sets and maintains appropriate inventory par levels.
  • Sets and protects safety protocols for inventory of both food beverage and other items.
  • Utilizes management tools to maximize sales, drive profits, manage labor and control costs.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21+ years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management or related discipline, preferred.
  • At least 10 years of Hotel Operations, VIP Services, Butler Services or Food and Beverage Management experience in a similar resort casino setting required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Card, Alcohol Awareness Card and Health Card.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English in both oral and written forms required. In addition, Cantonese and/or Mandarin, preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all levels of management, and Team Members.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and delegate responsibilities accordingly, manage multiple tasks in very fast paced environment and remain calm at all times.
  • Extensive operational knowledge in regards to cuisine, beverage, and luxury service.
  • Maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards.
  • Availability and willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to address all levels of situations with guests and Team Members with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
