POS experience POSITION OVERVIEW Under general direction, provides technical support, training, and assistance to agency staff. On an ongoing basis, help optimize use of computer equipment and applications at both corporate headquarters and remote sites. Install, test, and resolve problems with computer hardware, software, and networks, and coordinate projects as needed with both internal resources and external vendors. Strong desire to obtain new technical skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluates and resolves user problems with a wide variety of hardware, software, and technology related services. As needed, identifies external resources needed to assist with the resolution of issues. Assists in the needs for new and revised systems identifies possible improvements in computer systems makes recommendations for purchase of new information systems hardware and software. Installs and provides ongoing support for PCs, laptops, printers, and other personaldepartmental computing equipment. Manages, or assists with, configuration and administration of software and systems supported internally or provided by vendor partners, such as corporate POS systems. Build, modify, and update requested reports to aid the business units in making business decisions. Use Business Intelligence software to build reports and dashboards that integrate various SAAS and on-premise software applications. Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements. Participate in release and change management activities including testing, documentation, and deployment of applications. Willing and able to learn new software systems and train end users on proper application. Preform basic SQL database administration and configuration. Perform other technical jobs duties as assigned by the Director of IT.QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in computer related field or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. A+ Certification or MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) preferred. Minimum 2 years experience working with hardware configurations such as, but not limited to, Network Servers, Remote desktop help, installation and configuration of softwarehardware. Minimum 2 years experience working withinstallingconfiguring general office machines, laptops, printers, copiers, pc, and etc. 1 or more years experience in help desk support Will consider experience in place of certifications, provided selected individual can obtain MCP. Must be able to communicate effectively to individuals of various educational and socio-economic backgrounds. Read technical journals or manuals and attends vendor seminars to learn about new computer hardware and software. Possess a valid Georgia Driver's License and be insurable by company carrier. Ability to pass Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle driving record check. Able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as required.
