They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join their dynamic team. What you will be doing: As the new Senior Engineer, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager, and you will play a key role in leading and executing complex engineering assignments in the nuclear energy sector.
Under minimal supervision, you will leverage your expertise to provide technical guidance, review the work of team members, and ensure compliance with engineering standards. You will be responsible for a variety of engineering tasks, including design, development, analysis, testing, and resolution of field problems. Additionally, you will actively contribute to research efforts, propose innovative solutions, and collaborate on special projects as directed.
Practically speaking, you will:. Perform complex engineering assignments requiring originality, ingenuity, and the development of new methods. Provide advanced technical support and guide and review the work of other team members.
Ensure compliance with government, organization, and customer engineering standards. Independently evaluate, select, and apply a variety of technical techniques, procedures, and criteria. Develop new or adapted products, methods, systems, or models to provide added value solutions to customers.
Research and assess best practices, proposing methods and improvements. Work on special projects as directed. Support the product life cycle/replacement of current Client's technologies.
Actively participate in solving technical issues to increase business opportunities for the client The details: This is a contract position based in Pickering, Ontario, requiring office presence. The client offers a competitive hourly pay and a flexible hybrid work schedule. What you will bring:. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (4-year program) required.
Professional Engineering License (P. Eng). 10 + years of related CANDU experience. Eligible for Nuclear Site Access Security Clearance at Canadian & US-based utilities.
Extensive experience in nuclear engineering, with proficiency in system engineering and design review processes. Ability to prepare and/or provide critical peer review of engineering calculations and reports. Familiarity with manufacturing and constructability methods, including support for constructability review meetings.
Proficiency in engineering software tools such as ANSYS, AutoPIPE, AutoCAD, Solid Works, and MicroShield. Working knowledge and understanding of relevant engineering standards including CSA, ASME, and National Building Code of Canada. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
Proactive approach to problem identification and resolution. Strong ability and willingness to learn new procedures and processes. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work well with engineers from other technical disciplines.
Self-starter with demonstrated interest and ability to learn from senior staff and industry experts. Commitment to executing work to high safety and quality standards.
