Head of IT Business Applications- Munich, Germany

I am currently supporting a global 3D industrial printing organisation on their search for a Head of IT Business Applications to join their team in Munich on a permanent basis.

The role:
As the Business Applications Leader, you will play a pivotal role in leading their SAP team towards operational excellence and strategic growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leadership & Development: Dynamically lead the SAP team, managing talent acquisition, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performance culture.
• Salesforce Integration: Champion the integration of Salesforce CRM with their SAP systems to facilitate seamless data flow and superior customer relationship management. Strategise with cross-functional teams to maximise Salesforce's utility in their operations.
• Project Coordination: Oversee SAP projects, focusing particularly on transitioning remaining sites to S/4 HANA, ensuring tight collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• System Optimisation: Regularly refine SAP systems and processes to boost operational efficiency across various modules such as SD, LE, GTS, and more.
• Strategic Advising: Provide strategic insights to the SVP of IT on innovative SAP strategies and technologies, preparing their systems for future challenges.
• Complex Project Implementation: Direct the consultancy and implementation of intricate SAP projects and changes, aligning with both customer needs and their technology landscape.
• ERP Landscape Development: Collaborate across departments to enhance their SAP ERP landscape, including managing integration tests with IT departments and service providers.
• Process Improvement: Conduct analysis of current SAP processes, applications, and interfaces, recommending enhancements to elevate efficiency and effectiveness.
• Broad Application Management: Manage, integrate, and optimise a diverse portfolio of business applications and platforms alongside SAP, ensuring smooth integration with core systems for operational excellence.
• Technology Ecosystem Development: Actively engage in the assessment, selection, and deployment of new technologies and platforms to augment their SAP environment, supporting their business objectives and process improvements.

Experience required:

• Proven Experience: Established leadership in SAP team and project management, evidenced by a successful track record in delivery and team development.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of SAP ERP modules and cloud solutions, including direct experience with S/4 HANA conversions. Familiarity with the specified modules is crucial.
• Salesforce Proficiency: Demonstrated ability with Salesforce CRM, particularly its integration with SAP or other business applications, to foster customer engagement and organisational growth.
• Versatile Technology Expertise: Broad experience in managing a variety of business application ecosystems beyond SAP, showcasing proficiency in managing, integrating, and optimising diverse applications and platforms.
• Integration Acumen: Strong foundation in SAP integration with varied systems, including Kofax and other third-party applications, using Middleware, APIs, and custom solutions to ensure cohesive technology operations.
• Strategic Thinker: Capable of crafting and executing SAP strategies in line with their business goals, displaying a knack for innovative problem-solving.
• Collaborative Approach: Excellent teamwork skills, able to partner effectively with both internal teams and external collaborators to meet project objectives.
• Analytical Abilities: Superior analytical skills, able to unravel complex processes and deliver data-informed improvement recommendations.
• Communication Skills: Proficient in English; knowledge of German or another European language is advantageous.
• Integrity and Professionalism: Exceptional personal integrity, capable of handling confidential matters with the utmost maturity and judiciousness.
• Innovative Application of Technology: Insight into leveraging ML & AI to enhance automation within their business processes.
• Qualifications: Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field, with preferred SAP certifications.
• Extensive Experience: Minimum seven years in IT, including five years in business applications support and two years in a leadership role. Essential experience managing S/4HANA modules and peripheral applications in a manufacturing/software context.
