Job Title: Technical Trainer - Hands-On Experience with Linux, Windows, and DB2
Location: London/Remote (with occasional travel)
Salary/Rate: Up to £387 per day (INSIDE IR35)

Our client is a leader in data and analytics, helping businesses manage risk, prevent fraud, and make informed decisions. They serve various industries, including insurance, financial services, and government agencies. The main office is in London, you can work remotely if you re a good match for the role but the ideal scenario would be finding someone London based as there will be occasions when you need to travel into the London and Paris offices.

Role Summary:
This is a technical role as the application that needs to be learn in order to put together relevant training modules is quite complex. This would suit a Computer Science graduate with 2-5 years commercial experience.

In this role you'll be responsible for getting to grips with a new application thats to be released (which is why an understanding of Unix/Linux, RDBMS, SQL, DB2, IBM MQ etc would be extremely beneficial for this), storyboarding how the training should work and then developing online materials with the help of the E-learning team. Ideally you will have a good technical background, willingness to learn and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver effective technical training programs on various topics, including software applications, programming languages, IT infrastructure, and specialized tools.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure technical content accuracy.
  • Develop comprehensive training materials, including storyboards, presentations, handouts, and online resources.
  • Work closely with E-learning designers to create engaging content such as interactive modules, videos, assessments, and simulations.
  • Apply instructional design principles to structure content in an organized and learner-centric manner.
  • Customize training programs based on specific audience requirements and skill levels.
  • Assess training materials effectiveness through user feedback surveys or assessments and make necessary improvements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends in technology advancements and E-learning methods/tools.

Ideal Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Trainer delivering effective training for enterprise-level products and solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts both verbally and in writing.
  • A passion for education and professional development.
  • Near-native/fluent or native/fluent-level proficiency in English (other languages are a plus).
  • Knowledge of Unix (Linux Redhat, AIX, Solaris) and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS & SQL relationship databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server).
  • Knowledge of IBM MQ - queueing systems.
  • Configuration of Webservers: WebSphere, WebLogic, Apache Tomcat.
  • Knowledge of Three-Tier architecture.
  • Nice to have: Articulate Storyline (E-learning software).

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Experience using rapid authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline/Rise or Adobe Captivate.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) for deploying and managing online courses.
  • Experience developing training for Cloud solutions.
