Role: Principal .NET Engineer - Azure Integration

Salary: £70,000 + exceptional pension + package

Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional UK travel

Fruition IT are working with a fantastic organisation who are in a period of growth. They are looking to hire a Principal .NET Engineer who has a broad Azure background. You will play a vital role in the shaping of the organisation's application estate. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of Software Engineers to design, build, test, and maintain .NET applications and CI/CD pipelines that support all internal and external digital services.
  • Embed security, stability, and scalability in the development and deployment processes of services.
  • Promote a Software Engineering culture by fostering close collaboration and efficient workflows between product, engineering, and operations teams, supported by effective automation tools.
  • Lead and grow the Software Engineering function by offering technical direction for the internal team and external vendors.
  • Support business case development by clearly articulating benefits and returns on investment, ensuring solutions are delivered to meet time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Design solutions and services with security controls embedded, intentionally built to counter security threats as a fundamental component of each solution.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Proven experience leading skilled Software Engineers and DevOps Engineers, including mentoring and advocating for best practices.
  • Strong technical expertise, ideally with a background in software engineering, and a deep understanding of software engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Experience implementing efficiencies through automation, particularly in the automation of application deployment processes.
  • Extensive experience in developing and maintaining applications on the Microsoft stack, including C#, .Net, and related Microsoft tools for Azure deployment.
  • Proficiency with the full Azure Integration Services suite, especially Service Bus and API Management.
  • Skilled in building and optimising deployment pipelines and strategies on leading CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins.
  • Experience in designing, securing, scaling, and managing cloud platforms, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficient in managing complex, multi-server services in a high-availability production environment.
  • Strong understanding of containerisation, ideally with experience deploying Docker containers into production environments.
  • Experience with Agile tools and practices, such as Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of current trends in Software/DevOps/Platform Engineering methodologies, tools, and emerging solutions, with the ability to apply them where appropriate.
