Active Directory Engineer (Contract)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Active Directory Engineer with strong stakeholder management capabilities to join our dynamic IT team.

Job Summary:

As a Senior Active Directory Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Active Directory (AD) infrastructure within our organization. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and external partners, to ensure the AD environment is robust, secure, and aligned with the business needs. This role demands a deep understanding of Active Directory, strong problem-solving skills, and exceptional stakeholder management experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Active Directory Management:

    • Design, implement, and maintain the organization's Active Directory infrastructure.
    • Ensure AD services are highly available, secure, and optimized for performance.
    • Perform regular AD health checks, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
    • Manage and troubleshoot AD-related issues, including authentication, replication, and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Collaborate with IT teams, business units, and external partners to gather requirements and ensure AD solutions meet business needs.
    • Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Lead and participate in AD-related projects, providing regular updates to stakeholders and ensuring project objectives are met.
    • Conduct training sessions and workshops for stakeholders to enhance understanding and usage of AD services.
  • Security and Compliance:

    • Implement and maintain AD security policies and procedures in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
    • Ensure compliance with financial sector regulations and standards, such as SOX, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
  • Technical Leadership:

    • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior AD engineers and IT staff.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in AD and related fields, recommending improvements and innovations.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for AD infrastructure, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (eg, MCSE, MCSA, Azure AD) preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in managing and supporting Active Directory environments, preferably within the financial sector.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management and the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of AD architecture, including DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, and LDAP.
  • Experience with AD integration in hybrid cloud environments (eg, Azure AD).
  • Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices related to AD.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading AD-related projects.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with PowerShell Scripting and automation of AD tasks.
  • Knowledge of other identity and access management solutions (eg, Okta, Ping Identity).
  • Familiarity with other Microsoft technologies, such as Exchange, SharePoint, and System Center.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (eg, VMware, Hyper-V).
