Summary:

The Senior Product Manager and Business Analyst will oversee ETS products, features, and market roadmap, driving increased margins for products and contracts while also analyzing business operations and executing business requirements. This dual role involves client-facing responsibilities, effective implementation of products and services, and contributing to the successful delivery of contractual obligations. The role is 100% assigned to the California Assessment System contract and will report to the Senior Client Solutions Manager for the California Assessment System. Occasional travel will be required to meet with the California Department of Education staff or other product team members in person or to attend conferences related to the California Assessment System contracts. This position is eligible for remote work within the continental U.S.

Responsibilities:

Business Analysis

  • Data Gathering and Analysis: Collect and analyze data to identify business needs and opportunities for improvement.

  • Requirements Documentation: Develop and document detailed business requirements and functional specifications.

  • Process Improvement: Analyze current business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise between business units, technology teams, and support teams to ensure effective implementation of business solutions.

  • Reporting and Visualization: Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Market Research: Conduct market research to support product development and strategic planning.

Product Management

  • Act as a primary stakeholder to the program leadership team, working closely with the Assessment Operations to deliver business requirements, validate the client and contractual priorities and ensure an excellent user experience is delivered to customers

  • Communicate information about complex concepts and projects in a digestible and persuasive manner based on your audience, sell innovative ideas, and prioritize across product portfolios.

  • Lead the specification, development, launch, and evolution of products and contract deliverables, or as appropriate for early stage discovery efforts, collecting input from external stakeholders (state clients, educators, vendors) and internal teams (Assessment Operations, Technology, Research, PID, Marketing, Sales) to build and prioritize products, features and investments

  • Execute business requirements throughout the contract terms

  • Perform quantitative analysis on workflow performance and find opportunities for optimization

  • Identify processes, products and product attributes that will improve the quality and efficiency to meet contract SLAs

  • Create product investment business cases and advocate for resources

  • Conduct competitive analysis to establish product positioning and feature differentiation

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative research to discover feature ideas and validate them before development

  • Be responsible for hitting the key performance indicators you are entrusted with, including product P&L

  • Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function.

Education and Experience
  • At least six years of combined experience as a Business Analyst and Product, Program, or Project Management for student assessment contracts or products; direct experience on the U.S. K-12 large-scale assessment preferred

  • Undergraduate degree in related fields such as: Business Administration, Marketing or other areas combined with relevant work experience OR at least eight years of direct work experience on one or more K-12 large-scale assessment programs

  • Experience in managing projects and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

  • Proven track record of using data to drive business decisions and improvements.

  • PowerBI and SharePoint skills preferred

The pay range for this role is $115,000 to $125,000 + benefits. The actual pay will depend on the successful candidate's specific experience relevant to this role
