Role Purpose

Are you passionate about digital transformation and asset management? Join our Digital, Data, and Technology (DDaT) team and play a vital role in supporting and transforming our force's digital landscape. As a Change & Asset Analyst, you'll work alongside the Change and Asset Manager to implement, monitor, and drive key governance processes and asset management strategies. This includes ensuring the integrity of asset and configuration data, managing software licensing compliance, and promoting best practices.

Key Responsibilities as an Analyst will include;

  • Provide insights on software licensing compliance, consumption, and entitlement.
  • Create and present asset management summaries highlighting our software and hardware portfolio.
  • Maintain secure configurations, verify asset location, and control IT assets in key areas.
  • Analyze and assess impacts, developing and documenting change requests.
  • Collaborate with commercial services to align software license records with audit data.
  • Foster a quality-focused ethos, supporting template creation and version control for policies.
  • Ensure Service Desk processes align with ITIL best practices.
  • Develop a unified procedure manual for key IT support tasks.
  • Enforce clear protocols for issuing and auditing controlled assets.
  • Maintain a comprehensive register of all force systems and associated stakeholders.
  • Oversee hardware consumable inventory and stock control processes.
  • Support the Change and Asset Manager in managing software and physical assets.
  • Track ownership of all technology assets within the force.
  • Review and analyze licensing information ahead of contract renewals.
  • Embrace a culture of customer service excellence.
  • Provide accurate management information to senior stakeholders.
  • Conduct post-release analysis and prepare for upcoming changes.
  • Document and communicate key processes and standards.
  • Assist with service transition activities, focusing on Configuration Database, Assets, Licensing, and associated costs.
  • Support the governance of the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and other key forums.

The Person:

We're looking for a proactive ITIL expert or someone keen to develop in this area. You'll bring a strong understanding of ITIL principles, combined with great communication skills to engage non-technical stakeholders, including police officers. Experience in change management is an advantage, but we're eager to help you grow in this area.

An ideal Analyst will have the following experience:

  • A solid ITIL background with an understanding of IT service delivery.
  • An adaptable mindset and technical knowledge to support infrastructure.
  • Experience with enterprise software licensing agreements, like Microsoft Enterprise Agreements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information effectively.
