Platform Engineer - SC Cleared

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Platform Engineer - SC Cleared based onsite in either Warwickshire, Hampshire or Wiltshire for an initial 3 month contract.

* MUST HOLD ACTIVE SC CLEARANCE.*

* INSIDE IR35.*

Role Description:

Skilled Platform Subject Matter Expert (SME) to understand low level designs, create and implement build scripts, conduct testing and validation for a on-premises VMware infrastructure.

The following technology will be used to automate infrastructure as code - Terraform, Ansible and PowerShell DSC.

Collaboration and guide architects and clients to outline best practise to deliver Windows and Red Hat Linux virtual machines as code. Potential for scope to include other virtual infrastructure and network devices.

Skills Required:
- Proficient in writing, deploying and troubleshooting Terraform Configuration files,
- Proficient in writing, deploying and troubleshooting Ansible Playbooks/YAML files,
- Proficient in writing, deploying and troubleshooting PowerShell DSC MOFs and PowerShell Scripts
- Understanding of Integration with VMware platform
- Experience with version control system such as Git

Preferred:
- Knowledge and some skill with other configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, Salt Stack
