Senior Database Engineer: SQL Server, Azure, Database, T-SQL, PowerShell

We are supporting a Global Specialty Insurer's initiative to build out their Database function with a dedicated team of Database experts. As part of this expansion, a Senior Database Engineer is required to develop automated solutions in support of a multi-platform environment. In an ever-evolving business, you will have the opportunity to shape the database system & infrastructure, allowing the business to capitalize on streamlined & automated processes.

Working alongside a brand-new team of DBAs and Database Architects, you will be a key player in the development & support of SQL, Oracle and Azure databases. You will have excellent T-SQL & PowerShell programming, deep Microsoft Suite knowledge and supporting Database systems & migrations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement & support Database infrastructure & administration solutions
• Collaborate with DBA and application teams to ensure database performance, reliability and scalability
• Support code repository for the DBA team - ensuring code is up-to-date and functional
• Set standards and policies for best database practice & identify opportunities for improvement
• Participate in the evaluation of toolings, utitiles and applications to assist DBAs

Requirements:

• Experience providing database development & support for SQL Server and Oracle
• Proven experience supporting the migration of database systems to Azure
• Deep understanding of Microsoft SQL, SSRS, SSIS and SSAS.
• Knowledge of Oracle is also desirable
• Strong programming knowledge including T-SQL and PowerShell
• Proven background in supporting relationship Database Management System architecture
