Job Purpose

A pivotal position within the AI & Automation Team, collaborating with Architects and Developers and engaging with all business areas to refine workflows, augment data understanding, create innovative solutions through Power Platform, and bolster efficiency and decision-making with Generative AI.

Key Role Accountabilities

• Azure and Power Platform Engineering: Design and implement robust solutions using Azure infrastructure and Power Platform services to improve business operations. Focus on exploiting cloud capabilities to enhance system performance and scalability.
• Advanced Data Integration: Lead complex data integration projects, ensuring seamless data flow across various platforms within Azure. Tackle intricate data quality issues while adhering to stringent data governance and compliance standards.
• Business Process Re-engineering: Analyse existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Utilise engineering skills to propose and implement more technically focused process enhancements.
• Technical Requirements Specification: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their business needs, translating these into detailed technical specifications and innovative system designs focused on Azure technologies.
• Project Execution and Oversight: Manage the technical aspects of project life cycles, including planning, implementation, and monitoring. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, with a clear focus on technical excellence.
• Effective Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key technical liaison between IT and business units. Facilitate clear and effective communication regarding engineering updates, technical challenges, and resolutions.
• Documentation and Technical Compliance: Maintain rigorous documentation of technical processes, system architectures, and data mappings. Ensure all engineering solutions meet stringent compliance and data protection standards.

Success Measures

• Process Efficiency Improvements: Reduction in process time and costs, demonstrated through before-and-after analysis of key workflows that have been optimised.
• Data Knowledge Enhancement: Improved accuracy, accessibility, and usefulness of data across the business, evidenced by feedback from business areas and quantitative metrics such as reduced data retrieval times or increased data usage in decision-making.
• Innovation and Solution Adoption: Successful deployment and adoption rate of Power Platform and Generative AI solutions developed for business needs. This could be measured by user adoption rates, the number of processes automated, or the innovation's impact on business operations.
• Decision-Making Impact: Demonstrable improvement in decision-making processes because of employing Generative AI, which could be quantified through faster decision times, increased confidence in decisions made, or improved outcomes of decisions.
• Stakeholder Satisfaction: Positive feedback from business areas, architects, and developers regarding collaboration, support, and the overall impact of the role on the business. This could be gathered through surveys, interviews, or direct feedback during project reviews.
• Return on Investment (ROI): Support the monitoring and evidencing of financial return on initiatives led by the AI & Automation Team. This will consider both the cost savings from efficiency improvements and the revenue growth from enhanced capabilities or new opportunities unlocked by innovative solutions.
• Learning and Development: Continuous improvement in the role's capabilities, including upskilling in Power Platform, Generative AI, and other relevant technologies or methodologies. This might be measured by certifications achieved, training completed, or new skills demonstrated in projects.
• Project Delivery Metrics: On-time, within-budget delivery of projects and initiatives, with specific goals met or exceeded, indicating effective collaboration, professionalism, and execution capabilities.

Knowledge and Skills

• Certifications in business analysis, project management, or Power Platform are advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience in technical business analysis, with a focus on value stream mapping, data flow analysis, and data mapping.
• Demonstrable exposure to the Power Platform (Power BI, PowerApps, and Power Automate) to automate processes, create apps, and generate insights.
• Demonstrable exposure to Generative AI and how it can be used safely in an organisation
• Technical skills in SQL, Python, or Java, with a strong grasp of database management and Datamodelling concepts is desirable.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to navigate complex scenarios and drive project completion.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating across diverse teams and conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data protection regulations and governance practices.
• Experience with agile methodologies and tools is preferred.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and cross-functional working skills with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Proficiency in collaboration tools such as Jira, Service Now, Confluence and SharePoint.
• Excellent grammatical and design skills as well as a flair for creating quality information flows and templates.
