Location: Remote + (Some travel to an office which could be in London, Leeds + Blackpool)

Duration: 6 months Rolling (2-year project)

Job Description:

As an SC Cleared DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications, while maintaining the highest standards of security and performance. Your expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and containerization will be crucial in optimizing our operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the development and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with software developers, system operators, and other IT staff to manage code releases.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure and application performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices in all aspects of the DevOps lifecycle.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and improve existing processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Active SC Clearance is mandatory.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • In-depth knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and monitoring tools (eg, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
  • Proficiency in Scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a secure, high-compliance environment.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (eg, Jira, Confluence).

Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
