Delivery Manager - Data Migration Project (Permanent)

Location: Remote with occasional Travel to London and other locations Country: UK Rate: £60K to £70K per annum
 

We are looking for an experienced Delivery Manager to oversee a critical data migration project, transitioning from Legacy databases to the AWS cloud. The Delivery Manager will ensure successful end-to-end delivery of the project by coordinating with various teams, optimizing processes, and managing project execution to meet timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Delivery Management:
    • Plan, schedule, and manage the delivery of data migration milestones according to the project roadmap.
    • Ensure timely completion of project deliverables, while adhering to quality standards and budget constraints.
  2. Cross-Functional Coordination:
    • Collaborate closely with product managers, IT, data engineering, and business stakeholders.
    • Coordinate resource allocation and task assignments across teams to achieve efficient project execution.
  3. Risk and Issue Management:
    • Identify potential risks and issues, devising mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and quality impacts.
    • Develop contingency plans and escalate critical risks to senior management as needed.
  4. Agile Process Management:
    • Lead the implementation of Agile methodologies, promoting continuous improvement and best practices.
    • Conduct sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring the team is on track with project goals.
  5. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Track project performance using key metrics and deliver regular progress reports to stakeholders.
    • Develop KPIs and dashboards to visualize project progress, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  6. Stakeholder Communication:
    • Maintain open communication channels with all stakeholders, providing accurate and timely project updates.
    • Facilitate decision-making by providing comprehensive data and insights.
  7. Vendor Management:
    • Coordinate with external vendors and consultants to align their deliverables with the project's requirements.
    • Negotiate contracts and monitor vendor performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project or delivery management, with a strong background in data migration or cloud transformation projects.
  • Proficiency with AWS cloud services and data integration/migration tools.
  • Agile certifications (Certified ScrumMaster, PMI-ACP, SAFe, etc.) are strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to guide cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience managing large-scale data migration projects involving Legacy databases.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and other Agile project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and governance.
